Finding Birds Through the Lens

I picked up photography in 2017 as something to fill the quiet spaces of my spare time. I didn’t realize then that it would slowly reshape the way I move through the world. Birds, in particular, found their way into my frame—and into my attention—almost effortlessly.

Now, wherever I go, I find myself looking up and listening. Trees, shorelines, open fields, city corners—anywhere a bird might appear becomes a place of curiosity and anticipation. Some encounters are brief, a flash of wings and color. Others offer a longer pause, a chance to watch and wait. Over the years, those moments have added up to photographs of more than 150 different species.

This blog is a place to gather and share those encounters. It’s not about perfect shots or complete lists, but about noticing small wonders that are often overlooked. Birds remind me to slow down, to be patient, and to appreciate beauty that rarely stays still.

I hope these images—and the stories behind them—offer you the same quiet pleasure I’ve found in birdwatching. Maybe they’ll even inspire you to look up a little more often.
